Before Shot..eeek! Posted by Hello

Guest Room finally done

Remember this old shot of the guest room/computer room? Well when I posted this old pic I had no idea how the room really would turn out. Well my inspiration came from Jane Austin movie watching and reading Pride and Prejudice. And because I'm just interested in the victorian times! So I decided to put my obsession with the 1800's into use and decorate the room with that kind of theme. Of course I don't have 1000's of dollars to spend on antiques or anything, but with a little thirft store shopping, and a little bit of scouting my parents room I captured my my vision close enough. Tell me what you think.

Design on a Dime

Alright alright. Things have been on the run. I've been keeping myself busy with house projects. As some of you know I was working on the guest room. Remember the before picture? Well it's almost done so i'll keep you posted, haha. Um..oh, then I went on the verge to redo the bathroom right in the middle of everything else, so that's been going on too. Now it's a tropical beach escape, hehehe, but not really, only my attempt of one. Kitchen is about to be done once Sara gets here, hurry up girl!
Off the subject, i'm about to get my wisdom teeth pulled. Maybe in 2 weeks or something. I want to hear about your extraction experience if you please. Let me know if it was fun (cough), or if you don't remember it, or give me your horror story, just don't scare me too bad. Ok Peace out.

Getting mail with Mom

When my mom and me go out to the store, she of course wants to get the mail before we leave so I can sort through it and tell her if there is anything important or not. Well, she doesn't walk out to the mail box to get it, she'll do it the "easy way" and drive up to the mailbox and get it right from the window. But the thing is, the mailbox is on the left side of the rode from our driveway so she driving into oncoming traffic. She thinks nothing of it, but here I am on the passenger side looking wide eyed at the car coming head on closer and closer. She finds all the mail, closes the cover, rolls up the window. "A little faster mom". The oncoming car is pretty close so mom pulls backwards into the driveway really fast. Whew, we made it once again. So this happens about every week or so and it still puts my nerves in a flurry. But she just laughs at me everytime and last week she said, "It just works out so well that way". Mom, I'll just walk out there and get it for you. Really I don't mind! Thankfully no casualties so far.

Waxed Chapstick

So I never knew that chapstick is nothing but a stick of wax. Or maybe it's just like that with the ones with spf, I don't know. Well I was driving to my aunt's house and I was at a red light. So my usual routine at this time is to unbury my chapstick from under some change and apply it. Well, it was so hot in my car that when I opened the cap, completely liquefied chapstick spilled across my shirt. Oh great, it was on my hands and fingers and some spattered on the car seat. Once it hit my shirt and skin it hardened just like wax. I had to peel it off my finger. My shirt wasn't that lucky. Anyone know how to get chapstick out of cotton??
The fun part was when I went to the store. I debated whether to put on my jacket to hide the wax or not. I thought I would probably look more ridiculous with a jacket on in the heat then to have a wax covered shirt. So I went in to buy some hot fries (yum!) and I used the bag of chips to cover up my stain. I think the cashier did notice and gave me a look but I just pretended all was well and then quickly left the store.

My 4th of July

Happy late 4th of July everybody. I haven't done any brain-storming lately about blog publishing, so I'll just write about my day on the 4th of July. To start the morning, I woke up around 8 to get ready for the parade. I wasn't excatly going to see one, I was going to be in one. Last week my dad was telling mom and I about his supervisor wanting people to volunteer to be in the 4th of July parade, and no was too interested. Who could blaim them, it's their day off. So to cut the story short my dad and I were in the parade together representing the temple terrace postal office, woo woo! Among a few others of course. I thought it would be cool to ride some big float, but to my dismay we had to walk the 2 miles, oh well.
It was a very hot, muggy day. Let me tell ya, I felt that 2 miles in the heat once I got home. I laid on the couch and couldn't get up for a few hours. It was so pathetic. So anyway, it still was fun. People would shout from the crowd, "Hey! There goes my mailman!" as they pointed to my dad. I was so very proud. Kids would yell "Happy Forth!" to you just to get some beads and candy. One girl screamed at me persisting to get blue beads, "Throw it!". One father of a little girl got a little angry with me because I wouldn't give over my awesome 4th of July hair band with those springy stars on top. The beads just weren't good enough, he wanted my parade attire too! "You're gonna deny by little girl your hat??", Oh please, you know you wanted my band for your own head. No, but your right, I should of just died to myself and handed it over along with all my other decorations.
Well it was all over and no one got hurt. After lounging on the couch I went to "work". I dropped off a patient's laundry at the hospital (hey, he was gonna pay me $20 for one load!). Then drove out of town to take care of my Aunt's pets. THHHEEENNNN I went to bayshore to watch some fireworks with some friends. Speaking of these friends let me tell you a little about them.
It started with reuniting with a good high school friend of mine. And it's so awesome because God has worked in her life these past 3 years as he has in mine. She even keeps the sabbath for goodness sake and wants to live in Israel someday. Wow, so anyway, we've been hanging out again and it's been awesome. Well she has introduced to some kids. Zarrell (6), Showeday(9) and her own that she adopted Amalia (3). They are the greatest kids! The first time I met them, at the park, Showeday was already my best friend, holding my hand, telling me about her mom and all this stuff. Then Zarrell is just so hyper and always has this cute lil smile on his face and asks me all these questions. And Amalia is the smartest little thing. They have taught me all these new games, like sha sha, sha booya. So yeah, last night all of us together went to see some fireworks. So it was a pretty good day. Hope all of yours went well too.
