Summer things

Summer is just speeding along. I finished up my painting class on Tuesday. It was a good experienced and I learned alot. The class was just a room full of girls of all sorts of different ages and personalities. They were all nice and enjoyable. One time (another roach story!) I went into the girls restroom and when I was walking out, lo and behold there was a huge, sickly lookin roach trying to climb up the wall, but without success. I got out of there as fast as I could. Another girl in my class was walking towards the restroom and I neglected to tell her about the bug, figuring who else is really scared of those things? Well I was walking away and heard a very loud gasp. Oops...she quickly came back out and I apologized for not giving her any warning. She said, "It was like..tall." Some of the other girls left the room to go look at it or something. Um..yeah, so this class was pretty relaxed as you can tell. So thats my lil story.
My other lil story is when I was starting my self protrait, one girl asked where I was in the picture and I held my head high and said thats when I was in Israel, on the Sea of Galilee. She wowed and all that and asked me if it was religious. Then she told me that she went to NY city on a missions trip once. Hmm, interesting. The last day of class we were displaying all our paintings and when they were looking at my self portrait, she yelled, tell them where you are! So I had to announce to the class of me being in Israel. And I didn't mind of course.
So thats all over..sigh. I am thinking about pursuing more art classes, but probably not until next year. In other news, I did my first Mary Kay skin care classes. It's about time. Actually the first was with the church ladies. I thought it might be a fun thing to do together, and it was good practice for me because I had another class today with strangers. They both went really well. The one with strangers was with this lady that I met at Shapes. She goes there to sell jewelry and we swapped parties. I'm having one for her at the end of the month and if any of you local ladies would like to come please let me know. She has some really cute stuff. It was really storming weather today, so 2 of the girls didn't show up tonight at the party. So I only had 3 total, but at least I got 2 bookings out of it.
I'm looking forward to getting out of this stormy weather and heading up to the heat of the north. I'm leaving for Rhode Island on August 1st throught the 8th. Hurray! On the 10th my cousin is having her baby, then school will be in full swing shortly after that. At least this time I don't have to go at it alone!! I'm so exciting about having KJ go to my school. It's really hard for me to imagine, but the more I pass the school the more I picture us running across the street together to get to chapel on time. Haha. Just kidding, we should be fine. Ok then, I'm hoping to get some of my paintings up, but I want to finish them first. So maybe by next April??
